Where are you? #RealTalk

Can satisfaction in a life unfulfilled ever be a positive thing? Why is it that people tend to have a lethargic attitude to their occupations and only step up in the midst of pressure?

I know I worked harder in the last year in school before University to ensure I fulfilled my potential and then some. Truthfully however, I was running away from failure which drove me closer to success ironically. The same story happened when taking my GCSE's too in High School. Whether in your case you may be suffering from stagnancy in academic success, life goals, relationships, happiness, security or finding closure among our peer, we all have our own cross to bare.

Dr Sarah McNamar in her book Stress in Young People, in relation to the daily hassles of youths writes, "ongoing hassles...correlate with behavioral dysfunction in young people", hassles we introduce subconsciously by our own means that, act as obstacles to our aspirations. Getting the most out of life and beginning to move in the right direction is about be accountable for your own actions.

So what is the solution for me you ask? I'm in this place of vulnerability, frustration and possibly anger, jealously at other people's progress in contrast to my own. What is paramount to understand is that the power to see change in your life for the better is in you. Seeking inspiration is fine, researching and finding advice on how to transition to the next step is great, although be careful where you step. For example, there is a difference between admiring people and envying people's success on social networking sites that are manufactured. Do not waste your time watching others as that time can be spent improving your own life. You were assigned for greatness. Keep it locked. Peace.
