#BibleBreakDown - Suffering

Hey. Welcome to the #BibleBeakDown where I break down the meaning of scriptures in the bible.
Again I want to shout out ALL the viewers watching tweeting, sharing and all that. Much appreciated. Keep sharing so we can get #BibleBreakDown trending around the world. Its all about spreading the word of God.

Now lets go.

1st Peter 2:18-25

-
Example of Christ'suffering

"8 Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. 19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God."
Where the majority of us live there are no slaves(I hope), so from a western society point of view, Peter is calling us to respect the levels of authority around us for the will of God to be manifested. Whether unfairly treated where perhaps you have to bare the blame of something you didn't do in school, college or work. Doing so for the love of God is just, right and understood by the Lord.

"20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. 21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps."
Here the theme of being selflessness in our daily lives is being repeated to us. Jesus Christ was the prime example as we all know, dying for our sins so that we may live for righteousness and not die because of our sin. In the verse from  which says "seek ye first ye Kingdom of God and his righteousness", it is clear to understand that enduring suffering by following the commands of God is a sacrifice that will be rewarded. There is value in submitting yourself to the will of God.
22 “He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth.”[a]
23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 25 For “you were like sheep going astray,”[b] but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

This last section in quiet powerful and I hope it speaks to you as it did to me. I felt obliged to highlight the personality traits of Jesus Christ, who was fully man and fully the son of God. This is given to us as an example to follow, to aspire to emulate. No fight backing, or cursing your friend down when they throw insults at you. It is easier said than done. Yes. However, for those who follow in Gods footsteps fully the Kingdom of God is theirs for eternity. God bless.
